Apparently, the company that runs livejournal is having issues.  I do not know much of the detais, but I do know I do not want to lose my entries. 

Fortunately, scribe_ari  had posted a great solution in her blog
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ljarchive/  It is a very easy to use program that archives your live journal, entries, comments and all.  It was super simple - less than ten minutes, and I feel better already.

Just thought I would share.

But I just found out it is a Microsoft thing for PCs. I used the info on http://bryant.livejournal.com/659249.html and used ljdump to create copies.
